Elements of the Qassam Brigades, Hamas' armed wing, have succeeded in blocking the IOF troops' advance in the Khuza'a town, east of Khan Younis district to the south of the Gaza Strip, as they unleashed around 24 of their home-made projectiles at IOF troops' positions and military vehicles, sources in the Brigades affirmed.
An IOF infantry group attempted to sneak into the town, but it was discovered and hit with a number of mortar shells fired by the Qassam fighters defending the town.
In a statement it issued Tuesday and a copy of which was obtained by the PIC, the Hamas' armed wing announced that its fighters were able to rock Israeli positions in the town as well as the Miftahim settlement compound in the 1948-occupaied Palestinian lands.
Seven more home-made Al-Yassin projectiles, the statement added, were unleashed against IOF troops' armored vehicles and foot patrols, directly hitting them.
The Brigades lost three fighters in the battle while blocking the IOF troops' advance into the town early Tuesday.
"We shall remain steadfast on the resistance path, and Israeli threats to invade the Strip will never shake us, as we are fully ready to repel them in case they made their threats true. We have a lot of surprises for them", the statement promised.
