Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday he was sacking the interior minister in the southern republic of Ingushetia after a suicide bomb there killed at least 20 people.
Medvedev told a meeting of senior officials during a visit to the southern Russian city of Astrakhan, "I have decided to remove (from his post) Ingushetia's interior minister."
The blast in the city of Nazran, Ingushetia's largest, was caused by a bomb with the explosive power of TNT, the news agency reported, quoting a law enforcement source.
The number of wounded has risen to 118 people, Interfax reported, citing the emergencies ministry.
