Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz met Tuesday with visiting US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
During the meeting, they mulled over the current situation in Iraq, reiterating its sovereignty, national unity, independence and territorial integrity, the Saudi Press Agency (SAPA) reported.
They also discussed ongoing efforts to resume national dialogue in Lebanon, stressing the importance of the country's legitimate political process involving all warring Lebanese parties, the fight against terrorism in all its forms as well as the Iranian nuclear standoff.
Rice and Gates arrived here earlier on the day on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, coming from Egypt's Sharm El-Sheikh resort where they met Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and several Arab foreign ministers as part of a regional tour to reflect on how to restore stability in Iraq and to win support for a Middle East peace conference planned for later this year.
The conference was called by US President George W. Bush in a recent speech.
