A scanner to monitor the Lebanon-Syria border crossing was being installed, Lebanon's Naharnet news website reported.
According to the report, Lebanese as well as German custom officers supervised the field work as the device was being set up on Wednesday at the Masnaa crossing on the Beirut-Damascus highway.
Germany has been helping the Lebanese government to secure borders and enhance its sovereignty by providing equipment and training to immigration officials.
Scanners are also expected to be installed at all borders across Lebanon that would replace the manual inspections.
