Security forces on Friday arrested the son of Sunni politician Adnan al-Dulaimi after investigations uncovered two explosive-laden cars near his office, the Kuwaiti news agency reported Friday.
Dulaimi condemned the arrests as possibly politically motivated and urged security officials to verify all information before releasing statements regarding the arrest of his son an several other people.
An Iraqi security spokesmen denied the allegations, telling KUNA, "I receive orders from neither politicians nor MPs."
Dulaimi heads the Sunni faction that withdrew its members from Parliament in protest of the Shiite-led government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
