SP party gives report on Kurdish move to Turkish govt
Interior Minister Atalay met head of Felicity Party Kurtulmus as part of his tour to Turkish political parties on "Kudish move".
Interior Minister Besir Atalay met Monday Felicity Party (SP) Chairman Numan Kurtulmus as part of his tour to Turkish political parties and non-governmental organizations regarding government's "democratic move" aiming to find a solution to Kurdish issue.
Following the meeting, Atalay said his recent meetings were tangible steps to make a progress regarding the move.
"We are taking opinions of our political parties and NGOs," Atalay said.
"Indeed, we are getting richer too. Our works are thriving and getting more dimensions with these opinions. That's what we aim," Atalay said.
On his part, Kurtulmus said he gave Atalay a report that reflects opinions of his party about the matter.
Kurtulmus also offered his proposals to stop militancy in Turkey and suggested that Turkish military should end operations in southeastern Turkey and PKK should lay down arms.
Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently announced that his government initiated a move to deal with the Kurdish issue and the Ministry of Interior was assigned with the coordination of this task.
As a first step, Interior Minister Atalay held a press conference to inform the public about the government's "democratic move" to address the so-called "Kurdish Issue". Atalay made clear that this was a process where measures would be shaped along the way through consensus of all state organs and all components of the society. Atalay said they would visit all political parties to ask for their contribution and support.
He later met with a group of journalists at a workshop titled "Solution of the Kurdish Issue: Towards a Turkey Model".
Atalay, so far, visited several political parties and non-governmental organitazions.
