The attacker, driving a pickup truck, set it off close to a building housing offices for the Sunni "council of awakening of Al-Taji tribes," where chiefs of tribes opposing Al-Qaeda were holding a meeting.

The explosion killed five chiefs, wounded 15 people and inflicted heavy damage.
An identical attack on a meeting of tribal chiefs in Baghdad on June 25 killed seven chiefs and wounded more than 20 others.
