Syria FM sends letter to UN Chief on Syrian captive in Israel

Syria's Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem asked UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Thursday to pressure Israel to allow the Red Cross special medics to see a Syrian POW whose health is deteriorating in an Israeli prison.

According to the Syrian Foreign Ministry, Al-Moualem sent a letter to Ban on the Syrian prisoner Bishr Makt. The Syrian Foreign Minister dispatched a similar letter to, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Louis Arbour.

The letters stated that the Syrian captive had recently suffered a series of heart attacks due to premeditated medical negligence which had increased the possibility of death in any moment .

A similar case happened with Syrian captive, Hayeil Abu-Zaid Al-Moualem said that Syria holds Israel responsible for the health of the deterioration of all the Syrian captives in the Israeli prisons, especially Makt who is in dire need for top health care and close follow up.
