President Boris Tadic of Serbia said on Monday that historical relations between Turkey and Serbia were very important for political process in Balkans and for the Southeast Europe.
Tadic held a joint press conference with Turkish President Abdullah Gul in Belgrade.
He said that Turkey and Serbia had a common view and they wanted to develop strategic partnership.
Noting that a cooperation was necessary in regional policies in Southeast Europe, Tadic said that the two countries should support each other within the scope of unity with the EU.
Tadic said that Turkey was one of the most important global actors, adding that Turkey should inevitably take action when a global problem was needed to be solved.
Tadic also said that Serbia was "supporting the process in Bosnia-Herzegovina in a careful and constructive way", recalling that Serbia was one of the guarantor countries for territorial integrity.
He said that Serbia would "support every democratic solution in Bosnia-Herzegovina".
Noting that Turkey and Serbia were key countries in Balkans, Tadic said that countries, which wanted to solve issues concerning Balkans, should work with Turkey and Serbia.
