Turk Cyprus PM: Greeks give up Papadopoulos's policy
Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said regarding the results of "presidential" elections in Greek Cypriot side on Sunday that 65 percent majority gave up the policy of Tassos Papadopoulos who wanted to kill the UN process regarding talks for resolution of Cyprus issue.

Soyer told A.A that he respected Greek Cypriot people's will which would give a very serious message. Soyer recalled that Ioannis Kasoulides was in favor of Annan Plan.

Soyer said both Kasoulides and Demetris Christofias were supporting a federal solution on basis of UN.

He said it was necessary to both find a permanent solution to Cyprus problem and eliminate the Cyprus problem in Turkey's relations with Greece as well as in its EU membership process.

Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos was eliminated Sunday from Greek Cypriot "presidential" runoff. The election will now be determined in a February 24th second round between communist party leader Demetris Christofias and former Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides.
