Turk military airport to be opened to civilian flights

Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim will be among passengers to arrive at the airport on June 12th.

Governor of central Anatolian province of Corum, Mustafa Toprak, said Tuesday the military airport in northern province of Amasya's Merzifon town would be opened to civilian flights.

The first civilian passenger jet to arrive at Merzifon will come from Istanbul on June 12th.

Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim will be among passengers to arrive at the airport on June 12th.

According to Mustafa Toprak, there will be flights from Merzifon to Istanbul and vice versa on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
