Turkey, Azerbaijan sign cooperation protocol

Turkey and Azerbaijan signed a cooperation protocol on Tuesday to work together to improve quality and efficiency of the public personnel.

The protocol was signed by Turkish State Minister Murat Basesgioglu and Behram Halilov, Azerbaijani minister for civil servants.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Basesgioglu said Turkey and Azerbaijan were "two states, one nation."

"We have been acting with solidarity in the international platform. We have signed several cooperation agreements so far. This protocol is one of the rings of that chain," he said.

Visiting minister Halilov said Azerbaijan was a young state which wanted to learn and take advantage of Turkey's experiences in public personnel management.

He said Azerbaijan would be able to implement new standards following the protocol.
