Turkey eyes $1 bln project with Islamic development bank
A senior official from the Turkish Treasury said Wednesday they were planning to launch a 1 billion USD public credit project with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).

"I hope that Turkey would benefit more from the bank's resources and we are working on a package of 1 billion USD public project to spend on highway and railway construction and on energy in the next three years," Treasury Undersecretary Ibrahim Canakci told AA on the sidelines of an annual meeting of IDB governors in Jeddah.

Turkey is a founding member of the IDB and it is the fifth biggest shareholder.

The country has so far received 3.8 billion USD.
