Turkey will send a monitoring delegation for the second round of presidential elections in Afghanistan if Afghan authorities request it.
Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday, "the second round of the presidential election will be held on November 7.
"Despite very difficult conditions, he first round of the elections took place on August 20 as a result of brave and determined stance of Afghan people. Each experience of election will constitute a step in development of democracy. Turkey sent a delegation for the first round of elections. Now, if we receive a request from Afghan authorities, we will send another monitoring delegation to watch the second round of elections," it said.
"We hope that the second and the final round of the elections will be held in a peaceful, fair and transparent atmosphere. We attach great importance to Afghanistan's efforts to provide national unity and continue rebuilding of the country," the ministry added.
