Turkish university students have faced on Monday again the chronical ban on headscarf as new registration term has started.
Headscarved students who want to register the faculties removed their hijab for carrying out their application.
As others, students in Cukurova University, in Turkish province of Adana, could applicate for registration after they took off their headscaves, entering in a paravane.
University guards erected security line 20 metres far to university building to block entry of headscarved girls. Security guards warned students to remove their hijab in this check points.
Turkey still insists on imposing headscarf ban as a country whose population is 99 percent Muslim and majority of women wear headscarf as a religious practice.
Turkey imposes also the ban at all public domain.
Elif Eker, a student of Teachership of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge, said that imposing this ban was nonsense in this epoch but it has been insisted stil to continue.
Ruling AK Party and aAtional Movement PArty (MHP), opposition party, made an amendment to limit the ban in 2007.
But main opposition party, Republican People Party (CHP), angered most of the Turkish people when it prevented the freedom of wearing headscarf in universities by applying to top court to annul the parliament's amendment which would give limited freedom to Islamic wearing of girls.
