Turkey on Tuesday released the remaining 5 PKK members who surrendered to security forces earlier Monday, media said.

Prosecutors Monday interrogated the group, consisting of 34 PKK members, surrendered at the Habur border gate between Turkey and Iraq.

There are 11 women and 4 kids in the group.

5 prosecutors were appointed to interrogate the surrendering PKK members. 29 of PKK group was released, but 5 had been sent to court.

45 attorneys, who are registered members of the bar associations in the region were also present at the interrogation process.

The surrender comes as a result of Turkish government's efforts to launch a "democratic initiative" which is expected to be unveiled soon.
