Turkish armed forces have decided on Tuesday to rent a pilotless reconnaissance planes from Israel in an attempt to closely monitor PKK members, and boosting air defense capabilities.
According to Turkish broadcast NTV website, the planes are considered a military leap toward arms and aviation for Turkey, particularly in terms of military spy aviation and reconnaissance.
NTV website said the planes will play a vital role in monitoring PKK movements on the borders, and will deliver live feed graphics to the military central command about their positions.
Turkey currently owns one pilotless plane which has been purchased from the United States amid increasing attacks by the PKK.
In 2005, Turkey has signed a deal with Israel to buy 10 similar planes which will be delivered next year.
