Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler said on Thursday that 28 students in Istanbul were tested swine flu positive.
Guler told reporters that according to lab results, 28 students from 16 different schools in Istanbul were infected with H1N1 virus and the infected students were under treatment at their houses.
Guler said that currently there was no need to close the schools in Istanbul.
On Monday, all primary and secondary schools were closed for one week in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir because of confirmed and probable swine flu cases. Earlier last week, a primary school was closed over swine flu cases in the Turkish capital Ankara.
