Turkey says ready for military training if Pakistan asks
Turkey's top general said on Thursday that if Pakistani Armed Forces asked Turkey's help, Turkey would be glad to meet its need in military training issue.

Holding a press conference at Turkish Embassy in Washington D.C., Turkish General Staff Chief Gen. Ilker Basbug said that Turkey and Pakistan, as two sister countries, had relations in a very different dimension, adding that the dialogue between Turkey and Pakistan was special.

During the conference, U.S. Ambassador in Ankara James Jeffrey also asked Turkish military to train Pakistani, Afghan troops.

Gen. Basbug said that if Pakistan wanted Turkey's help in military training regarding the fight against "terrorism", Turkey would surely meet this demand as soon as possible.

Annual high-level military meetings between Turkey and the U.S. would take place in December in Washington D.C, and it would be appropriate to broaden the scope of these meetings, Gen. Basbug said.
