Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Turkey and Syria started to implement a mutual visa exemption procedure on Friday.

Releasing a written statement, the ministry said that Turkish and Syrian citizens would be able to travel to each other's countries without visas starting from September 18.

With the new procedure, Turkish and Syrian citizens, who own diplomatic, service and general purpose passports, would not be required visas for their travels not exceeding 90 days, the ministry said.
