Turkey takes part in 28th Gulf Summit in Doha

Turkey will take part on Monday in the opening session of the 28th Summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Doha under the chairmanship of the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.

The Turkish delegation headed by Minister of State Mehmet Aydin will take part for the first time in a GCC Summit since the establishment of the GCC.

The GCC groups Saudi Arabia, Qatar, The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman., Informed Turkish sources said Aydin will meet with a number of GCC officials on the sidelines of the summit to discuss a number of key issues in the region.

The conferees are expected to discuss a host of economic issues and political issues topped by the UAE-Iran islands dispute, the Iranian file, the Middle East dispute in light of the outcome of the Annapolis peace conference, and the single GCC currency project expected to be completed by 2010.
