The new mosaic museum in Gaziantep will sit on a land of 40,000 square meters.

Mayor of south-eastern province of Gaziantep, Asim Guzelbey, said Thursday the new mosaic museum currently under construction will open its doors to visitors in March, 2010.

Speaking to the AA, Guzelbey said that construction of the Gaziantep Mosaic Museum would cost 35 million USD.

"We have decided to erect a mosaic museum in order to make Gaziantep a center of tourism," Guzelbey said.

Gaziantep is one of Turkey's most important industrial and commercial centers. The province has rich historical and cultural heritage. By promoting tourism, we will add new momentum to Gaziantep's growth and development, Guzelbey also said.

The new mosaic museum in Gaziantep will sit on a land of 40,000 square meters.

The museum will include mosaics from the Zeugma Ancient City.
