Turkey wants Iran, West to focus on issue without tension
Turkish ministry sais that they have not received any information from Iran about the October 1 meeting yet.
Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Burak Ozugergin said on Wednesday regarding the relations between Iran and the western world that Turkey expected the parties to focus on the issue without tension, and begin talks as soon as possible.
Assessing the news claiming that Iran and western world may hold talks in Turkey on October 1, Ozugergin said that Turkey had been included in the process regarding its neighbor Iran for a long time, adding that EU High Commissioner Javier Solana had views that talks might probably take place in Turkey on October 1.
However, we have not received any information from Iran about the issue yet, said Ozugergin.
He said, "our door is always open. We want parties to focus on the problem without tension and begin talks as soon as possible."
Ozugergin noted that parties' understanding each other and eliminating misunderstandings would be for Turkey's interest.
