The Turkish government announced on Saturday the budget deficit for 2010 as 50 billion Turkish liras (TL). (One USD is 1.4620 TL)

Turkish State Minister Mehmet Simsek held a press conference in which he said that the budget revenues would be 236.8 billion TL in 2010.

The government forecast the budget expenditures around 286.9 billion TL, and the budget deficit around 50.1 billion TL.

The primary surplus in 2010 will be around 6.6 billion TL.

"There will be 7.6 percent rise in budget expenditures in 2010 over 2009," Simsek said.

Simsek also said that the budget revenues would be up 16.1 percent in 2010, compared with 2009.
