Turkey's current account deficit climbed to 4.1 billion USD in July 2008 from 2.8 billion USD in July 2007.

Turkey's current account deficit increased 43.4 percent to 4.1 billion USD in July 2008 over the same month of last year, Central Bank said on Wednesday.

Turkish Central Bank released the balance of payment report for July 2008.

Accordingly, Turkey's current account deficit climbed to 4.1 billion USD in July 2008 from 2.8 billion USD in July 2007.

Foreign trade deficit increased 32.6 percent to 6.4 billion USD in the same period.

Meanwhile, Turkey's current account deficit in the January-July period of 2008 rose 42.5 percent to 31.5 billlion USD from 22.1 billion USD in the same period previous year.
