The IHH, which carries out educational and social activities in the Balkans, organized mass circumcision events to circumcise children of impoverished Muslim families.
A team of 12 Turkish doctors and health personnel were sent to the Balkans and circumcised 1,020 children in Bulgaria, Kosovo and Macedonia.
The team tasked by the IHH circumcised children of impoverished families. The families were gratified that their children have been circumcised in a healthy way.
The mass circumcision organization included 300 children in 30 villages in Bulgarian provinces of Vidin, Vratsa, Montana, Kyustendil, Pernik and Sofia.
Another 500 children were circumcised in Kosovar regions of Drenitsa, Iskenderay, Kachanik, Elez Han and Ferizay.
In Macedonian regions of Strumica, Negotin, Kavadarci, Bitola, Krivolak, Prilep and Debar, 220 children were circumcised.
