Ahmed held a press briefing at IMF HQ in Washington D.C., USA.
Upon a question on the completion date of the latest review of Turkey's program, Ahmed said, "at this stage, it's unlikely that the Board meeting will take place in February".
"As you know, agreement was reached last December on the policies needed to complete the next review under the Stand-By Arrangement, including a number of policy steps to be implemented before the Board meeting," Ahmed said.
"Over the last few weeks I am happy to note that the authorities have made progress on a number of areas, and we are now looking forward to progress also being made in the areas of social security and tax administration reform, which will enable us to complete the pending review," he added.
