Turkey's int'l Izmir fair closes its gates

A total of 1,043 firms, including 252 foreign companies, took part in this year's festival and displayed their goods in the various kind of sectors.

The 77th Izmir International Fair which opened its gates with the theme of "Global warming and climate change", closed its gates on Sunday evening.

A total of 1,043 firms, including 252 foreign companies, took part in this year's festival and displayed their goods in the sectors such as alternative energy, organic foodstuffs, furniture, automotive, agricultural machinery, yacht building, publishing, electronics, computer, health and tourism.

This year's honorary guest was Cuba and around 1.5 million people visited the fair. A number of Cuban firms operating in health sector took part in the fair.

Fair is the oldest tradeshow in Turkey. The fair is held at the compound of Izmir's vast inner city park named Kulturpark.
