The national airline carrier of Turkey will fly by Boeing 777-300ERs from Istanbul to New York, the company said on Thursday.

Turkish Airlines (THY) released a statement and said that it would start flying from Istanbul to New York every day by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft as of September 28.

There will be 312 seats on the 777-300ER planes, including eight first class, 30 business class and 274 economy class seats.

Seats at the "first class" and "business class" sections are lie-flat.

The Boeing 777 will enable the Turkish Airlines to carry 40 more passengers and 18 tons of more cargo in each flight to New York.

The net profit of THY in the first half of 2009 was 102 million Turkish liras (TL). (One USD equals to 1.485 TL)
