Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz met with Iraqi Oil Minister Hussein al-Shahristani at Istanbul's Dolmabahce Palace on Tuesday.
Speaking at a joint press conference after the meeting, Yildiz said that Turkish Petroleum Corporation might offer bids in oil and natural gas tenders in Iraq as direct operator in 6 fields and as part of a consortium in 4 fields.
"TPAO can offer bids in all the 10 tenders and I hope we will underline the cooperation between Turkey and Iraq by a winning a tender there," Yildiz told reporters.
Responding to a question on possible Iraqi contributions to the Nabucco natural gas pipeline, Iraqi oil minister said his country could provide natural gas to the pipeline if Iraq produces more gas than it currently needed.
