Turkish General Staff has sent the proposal to extend mandate to launch cross border operations into Northern Iraq by another year, to the Prime Ministry on September 14, General Staff SG Gen. Ferit Guler said in a announcement published in Turkish newspapers on Friday.

Separately, General Metin Gurak, chairman of the Communication Office with the Turkish General Staff, said cost of the missile project was not 7.8 billion USD and noted that, "the missiles do not target any specific country. They are mobile and can be used in any front."

Gurak said that the bidding companies would submit offers by October 13, the reports said.
