Turkish Central Bank puts inflation target at 4 percent until 2010

Turkish Central Bank announced Tuesday that the bank targeted a 4 percent inflation rate for 2010, the same with levels previously set for 2008 and 2009.

Speaking at a press conference on the bank's monetary and exchange rate policy, Governor Durmus Yilmaz said the bank aimed at reducing the inflation rate in 2008 on a steady path, putting the inflation rate at 7.1 percent in March, 6.5 in June, 6.3 percent in September, and 4 percent in December with an uncertainty margin of 2 points.
