Over 40 scholars and experts from countries such as Switzerland, Canada, India, France, Azerbaijan, Iran, Morocco, Algeria, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Italy, Romania and Turkey will deliver papers on Mevlana's philosophy, his life and his teachings on the 734th anniversary of his demise which he described as "Vuslat" or his reunion with God.
The two-day event will also feature an exhibition and concert.
"Come, come again, whoever you are, come! Heathen, fire worshipper or idolatrous, come! Come even if you broke your penitence a hundred times. Ours is the portal of hope, come as you are," is his famous motto that has been seen as a symbol of tolerance and love for centuries.

Turkish city to host international symposium on Mevlana
The central Anatolian city of Konya is set to host on December 13 an international symposium on Jalal ud-Din Muhammed Rumi, who is also known as Mevlana, philosopher and founder of the Mevlevi Order.
