Turkish, Croatian ministers discuss EU process in Bosphorus Conference

Turkey's Chief EU Negotiator and State Minister Egemen Bagis met with his Croatian counterpart Vladimir Drobnjak on the sidelines of the Sixth Bosphorus Conference at the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul.

Bagis said during the meeting that the two countries started accession talks with EU at the same date, expressing his belief that once Croatia became a member it would give a hand to Turkey to help it join the union.

Bagis said accession talks were no easy task adding that Croatia overcame many major obstacles during this process.

Drobnjak said the two countries walking together on the path to EU should keep on supporting each other, and pointed out that they had a lot to share.

Later the conference proceeded with a lunch closed to the press.

The scheduled meeting between Bagis and European Commissioner for Enlargement Olli Rehn was postponed due to their busy schedule.

The two will meet Sunday over breakfast.
