The Turkish and Czech finance ministers met in Istanbul on Thursday.

Turkey's Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek had a working meeting with his Czech counterpart Eduoard Janota in Istanbul.

The Turkish-Czech Business Council organized the working meeting in Buyuk Kulup, Istanbul.

"Our two countries can boost their trade volume of 2 billion USD, and increase their investments," Simsek said during the meeting.

Simsek thanked the Czech Republic for its support for Turkey's European Union (EU) membership bid.

Also, Janota said Turkey was a "perfect" host for the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

Janota said he wanted to see Turkey as an EU member after it fulfilled all required criteria.

The Czech minister invited Simsek to his country.
