Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan talked to his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov on phone.
Speaking to AA on Wednesday, spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Burak Ozugergin, said that Babacan and Mammadyarov discussed the recent situation in the Caucasus.
According to Ozugergin, Babacan gave information to Mammadyarov on Turkish President Abdullah Gul's recent visit to Yerevan and on his talks with Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian.
Babacan told Mammadyarov that Turkey would always support Azerbaijan, Ozugergin said.
Mammadyarov expressed a positive response on a possible trilateral meeting between the foreign ministers of Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan in the United States.
Meanwhile, Babacan would travel to Switzerland on a working visit on Thursday morning rather than on Wednesday as it was earlier announced.
