European countries should should stop assisting terrorism and terrorists, Turkish Deputy Chief of General Staff Gen. Saygun said.
European countries should comply with the international rules and decisions and they should stop assisting terrorism and terrorists, Turkish Deputy Chief of General Staff Gen. Ergin Saygun said on Friday.
Speaking at closing session of an international symposium on the future of the Middle East organized by General Staff's Strategic Research and Study Center, Gen. Saygun said several factors such as religious and ethnic diversity, rich oil and natural gas reserves, limited water resources, economic problems and immature political formations as well as external factors hindered finding solutions to several issues in the Middle East.
Arab countries should assume a more effective role in regard to settlement of peace, stability and prosperity in the Middle East, he said.
In regard to fight against terrorism, Gen. Saygun said terrorism negatively affected the region and the world and some countries used it as a weapon against their rivals. "Europe should comply with international decisions especially UN Security Council resolutions and stop supporting terrorism and terrorists," he said.
