Turkish, Georgian PMs discuss Caucasus proposal

The Turkish prime minister discussed Russian-Georgian tension with his Georgian counterpart on Friday.

Turkey's Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan met his Georgian counterpart Lado Gurgenidze in Istanbul, and received information about the recent developments regarding Russian-Georgian tension.

The two prime ministers also exchanged views on Turkey's proposal to set up a Caucasus Stability & Cooperation Platform.

Erdogan also met William Burns, the U.S. under secretary of state for political affairs, in Istanbul.

Diplomatic sources said that Burns was paying one of his regular visits to Turkey within the scope of strategic partnership vision paper, and also said that Erdogan and Burns discussed issues concerning the two countries.
