Turkish Health Ministry procured new air ambulances for eight provinces.

Canakkale, Bursa, Afyonkarahisar, Konya, Adana, Samsun, Trabzon and Van provinces will have their air ambulances as of the first week of September. The other two air ambulances will be deployed in Ankara and Istanbul which already have one air ambulance each.

Thus, Health Ministry will have a total of 17 air ambulances including the ones in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya, Kayseri, Erzurum and Diyarbakir provinces.

Air ambulances, which have been serving since October 28, 2008, flied a total of 2,695 hours, and carried 1,475 wounded people or patients and 11 organs for transplantation.
