Turkey is willing to exert concerted efforts with Hungary to expand cooperation and make the trade volume tenfold in a couple of years, Turkish industry and trade minister said on Wednesday.
Minister Nihat Ergun has held talks with Hungarian officials as well as businessmen during his three-day visit to this country together with a delegation of Turkish businessmen.
Ergun said that there was a trading activity worth around 2 billion USD between Turkey and Hungary and that Turkey was willing to make it tenfold.
"Turkey's share is only 600 million USD in Hungary's imports of 110 billion USD. In return, Hungary has a share of 1.3 billion USD in Turkey's imports of 170 billion USD. Turkey's exports to this country must increase," Ergun said.
He also said that businessmen of the two countries could make joint investments to expand to third countries.
Ergun and his accompanying delegation will return to Turkey later in the day.
