"The Derince, Samsun, Bandirma and Iskenderun sea ports will be privatized very soon," said Kemal Unakitan, Turkish Minister of Finance, on Saturday.
The agreement on operation right of the Mersin Sea Port has been signed on Saturday.
Accordingly, Mersin International Sea Port Management Company, a joint venture of the PSA and Akfen Holding, will operate the Mersin Sea Port for 36 years.
PSA and Akfen Holding paid a sum of 755 million USD to operate the Mersin Sea Port for the next 36 years.
"There will be more people with better qualifications working at the Mersin Sea Port," said Akfen Holding's CEO Hamdi Akin.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Privatization Administration Metin Kilci stressed that "within the past seven days, Turkey earned around 2.5 billion USD thanks to privatization."
