The Turkish prime minister said on Thursday that the new incentive package would employ 500,000 people.
Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the new incentives and employment package would create vocational and entrepreneurship education and training and offer direct employment opportunities for almost 500,000 people.
"We will employ unemployed people in socially-beneficial projects, and create them job opportunities for six months," Erdogan told a press conference in Ankara in which he made public the new incentives and employment package.
Erdogan said unemployed people would work in forestation and environment projects, and projects to maintain, repair and clean schools.
"We are providing 200,000 employed people with vocational training, and we are giving entrepreneurship consultancy to 10,000 unemployed people and paving the way for them to establish their own businesses," he said.
Erdogan said the government would closely monitor the developments in employment and might review measures if necessary.
