Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday, "we should all together make supremacy of law, human rights and pluralist democracy sovereign in our region."

Speaking at the inauguration of the Summit of the Heads of State & Government of the South-East European Cooperation Process in Kishinev, Moldova, Erdogan said that Turkey would take over the rotating presidency of the South-East European Cooperation Process during the summit. He added that southeast European geography had a special importance for Turkey.

Even if we do not have geographic border, we have multidimensional relations with the regional countries in the southeastern Europe, he added.

Erdogan said that the developments, which had been recorded in bilateral relations and the cooperation among the regional countries, were promising for the future.

Erdogan noted that Turkey, as a priority in its foreign policy, attached importance to peace and stability in Balkans. He added that stability of Balkans was an indispensable condition for Europe's peace and security.
