PKK origin terrorist was captured in the middle of Istanbul with 3 kilograms of explosives in his backpack after a week long chase.

After being taken under custody, police have also found another type of explosive in his pockets. Another terrorist picketing for his friends was also captured in the same area.

As the Turkish troops began bombing the terrorist organization PKK in the N.Iraq, live bombs trained by the organization are becoming a great danger for big cities like Istanbul.

Istanbul police have followed a PKK terrorist for about a week and captured him in Mecidiyeköy metro station with three kilograms of A-4 explosives in his backpack.

Terrorist who was planning to make a huge massacre in the most crowded area of the city is only 32 years old.

Police said the suspect arrived in Istanbul from Diyarbakır about a week ago and weas being followed by the security forces since then. It was learned that after bombing the metro station, he was planning to conduct a suicide attack in Şişli Police Department.

However, Istanbul police found more explosives and blast mechanisms in the house of a man detained earlier on Monday.

Police had found 3.5 kg of A-4 explosives in the back pack of the detainee.

The detainee's home is in the Yenibosna district of Istanbul.

Further operations are currently taking place in different locations in Istanbul and several more individuals have been detained.

Istanbul Police Chief Celalettin Cerrah also arrived in Yenibosna and is observing the ongoing operation.
