Three citizens filed a complaint about Gül and his wife claiming "Hayrünnisa Gül acted against the constitutional law by attending the presidential meetings with a headscarf."

Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor has given a decision which would cause debates about "whether the presidential mansion of Çankaya is public space or not" which was brought up on the agenda by the 10th president Ahmet Necdet Sezer.

Three citizens filed a complaint about Hayrünnisa Gül who showed up at the reception of October 29 with headscarf. The complaint file said that Gül wore a headscarf in public space and the president Gül condoned this.

Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor decided that there is no need to prosecute about the criminal complaint of public space regarding the headscarf of Mrs. Gül.
