The first quake, which was measured at 4.2 degrees on the Richter scale by the seismological center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, had an epicenter located at 27.57 latitude and 55. 69 degrees longitude, IRNA reported Tuesday.

The Geophysics Institute said the Tuesday morning tremor measured 4.9 on the Richter scale and the epicenter was located at 27.60 degrees latitude and 56 degrees longitude, the Fars News Agency reported.

No reports were yet received Tuesday on damage or casualties from the quakes.
