US asks Turkey to train Afghanistan, Pakistan armies
U.S. Ambassador in Ankara James Jeffrey said on Friday that Turkey had a big experience in "counter-terrorism", and if Afghanistan and Pakistan accepted, Turkey could provide further military training for those countries.

Speaking to reporters in Washington D.C., Jeffrey said regarding Turkey's military operations in the north of Iraq that Turkey coordinated the operation with the U.S. and Iraq, adding that the operations were carried out generally as air attacks.

Saying that Turkey had the ability to move its conventional units from various regions to the southeastern Anatolia region in a short time and make them ready to counter terrorism, Jeffrey argued that this ability could be "beneficial" in training of friendly countries.
