Wildfires Monday threatened tens of thousands of acres in Idaho, Washington and Oregon.

Oregon's largest wildfire Sunday burned nearly 11,500 acres and continued to grow Monday in the 101,000-acre Egley wild lands complex in the western part of the state, The Portland Oregonian reported.

"It's not moving anywhere closer to Burns or Hines, but it is growing," said Ron Meyer, a spokesman for the interagency fire team.

Other fires in western Oregon Sunday burned an estimated 1,500 acres near Fossil Creek, 1,200 acres near Clarno and more than 700 acres around Ball Point.

In central Washington, 90 square miles burned on Sunday in three fires sparked by lightning in Horse Heaven Hills, while in Idaho a wildfire south of Lewiston Sunday consumed 24 square miles and another seven fires in the state covered 214 square miles by Sunday night.
