A photo of Bayezid II Mosque, shot by Emre Bostanoglu, won the bronze medal at the 7th International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) competition. Bostanoglu depicted the mystical atmosphere of the mosque while people were praying in it.
The mosque is a 15th century work of art in central province of Amasya, was dedicated to the Ottoman Sultan Bayezid the Second.
Bostanoglu told AA correspondent that he was happy to win such a prestigious award. He said he had been taking photos since his college years and had several awards both from the local and international contests.
He said their photo association FOKUS also attended the competition and became the 48th team among 157.
He said Turkish "Sille Art Palace" team also ranked 2nd and won the special award of the jury in the same contest.
Bostanoglu said the award ceremony will be held on February 16 in Paris.Last Mod: 11 Aralık 2012, 14:26
