The sixth Turkish Film Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina will start Saturday April 26 in the capital Sarajevo.
The film “Uzun Hikaye” ('Long story'), directed by Osman Sinav, will open this year's festival. Popular Turkish actor Kenan Imirzalioglu plays the lead role. Both director and star are scheduled to attend the opening in Sarajevo.
"Our goal is that directors and actors that are well-known in Bosnia and Herzegovina come,” said Aydin Cengiz, Turkish Embassy Attaché for Culture and Tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the festival, Turkish drama films including “Uzun Hikaye”, “Yunus Emre Askin Sesi”, “Zerre”, “Uzak”, “Propaganda” and “Tepenin Ardi” will be shown free of charge, stated Cengiz, adding that films to be screened are selected from the Tourism Ministry's archive.
“This year is the 100th anniversary of Turkish cinema and this year’s edition of the festival is planned to be special," Cengiz stated, but did not reveal details. The festival's activities will be announced at the opening.
According to Cengiz, director Sinav is planning to direct a film about Bosnia, and this visit will be an opportunity for him to establish good cooperation with Bosnian film directors.
The festival is organized by the Turkish Embassy's Office of the Attaché for Culture and Tourism, and this year it will take place in Sarajevo from April 26 until May 1, and in Mostar, Herzegovina, from May 7 to 11.Last Mod: 25 Nisan 2014, 11:17
